Hi there!
How can we help you today?
Cobrowsing is when two or more people browse and interact with the same webpage at the same time.
When a Cobrowsing session is launched, typically there is a host and one or more participants. When a participant joins a host's session, the participant can then see everything the host sees and even interact with the website the host is on. A host can typically see everything a participant is doing on there page in real time. Cobrowsing allows for two or more people to interact and collaborate via a browser session with no installed required.
Nope. Median does not collect or save any screen sharing data. Screen sharing information is transmitted in real-time, and the contents of screen sharing sessions are NOT recorded for later use.
Median currently integrates with LiveChat, Olark, Intercom, Zendesk Chat, Tawk.to, SnapEngage, Kustomer, Drift, Chatra, HelpScout, Chat Beacon, Re:amaze, and Slaask. If you use something different, let us know, we would love to chat.
Cobrowsing and Screen Share act similar but are two completely different technologies.
Most screen sharing software requires an install and uses video to stream a live feed of a users session to participants in a meeting room. Cobrowsing software on the other hand does NOT use video, instead it simply passes HTML code from a host to a participant(s).
The major difference is how the information is delivered and presented.
Video it is heavy, requires a lot of software and resources, and is dependent on a good internet connection.
Code is light, requires almost no software, and can be deployed in minutes.
Median is a JavaScript application that once installed on a website collects static and dynamic data based on a website visitors session and passes that data via a secure server environment to be presented in a viewer for an agent to interpret and interact with.
In short, Median allows agents to see what visitors see by using code to recreate a pixel perfect representation of a visitors screen.
Absolutely not -- Median is designed to load after your page loads. We pride ourselves on making our product as lightweight as absolutely possible. Median won't change or affect the performance of your website, and our snippet is only 10% or less of the size of most common chat providers.
Absolutely not! Median works with or without your chat provider. Median has a built-in dashboard allowing you to view your site's users and visitors in real-time. We have a powerful API integrations allowing you to get Cobrowsing information no matter what tool you use.
No. Median is 100% browser based. Median's screen sharing also only works on sites you've installed our code snippet on. If your customer has yoursite.com open in one tab and google.com open in another, you'll only see activity on yoursite.com.
