๐Ÿšฒ Hardtail, Fixed Fork & Standard Bike

A customer's Bafang-converted hardtail bike

Good news: this is the easy case. Standard diamond-frame bikes โ€” hardtail mountain bikes, fixed-fork hybrids, commuters, and most everyday bicycles โ€” are exactly what these kits are designed for. There's not much extra to think about.

Just confirm the two universals:

  • Mid-drive: a threaded 68โ€“73mm BSA/JIS bottom bracket (BBSHD also in 74โ€“100 / 101โ€“120mm). Press-fit shells need an adapter.
  • Front hub: open 100mm dropouts, plus a torque arm on aluminum/carbon forks.
Run through the Fitment Quiz to confirm your specific frame and pick a chainring size, and skim our Mid Drive vs. Front Hub and Battery Range guides if you're still deciding which kit to buy.
