๐Ÿ›ž Replacing the Tire on Your Front Hub Motor Kit

Every front hub kit arrives with a heavy-duty, puncture-resistant Maxxis Pace hybrid tire already mounted โ€” for most riders there's nothing to do. If you want to change it (for example, a narrower tire on a road frame, or a knobbier tire for trails), here are the rim specs you'll need to choose a compatible replacement.

Rim size Our front-hub rim specs:
  • Inner width (between the rim hooks): 18.8mm
  • Outer width: 24mm
  • Included Maxxis Pace tire sits ~42mm across
  • Smallest tire we've found that works: about 25mm โ€” go narrower than that and the tire may not seat safely on the rim
Before you buy a tire:
  • Match the tire to your wheel size (26" / 27.5" / 29" โ€” printed on the current tire and rim).
  • Use a tire-to-rim compatibility chart (WTB publishes a good one) to confirm your intended tire width is rated for an ~18โ€“19mm internal rim.
  • When in doubt, have a local bike shop confirm the pairing โ€” they can check seating and clearance for your fork.
We can't guarantee which specific aftermarket tire models will work with our rim, but these numbers give you (and your bike shop) everything needed to choose a good match. Building a kit? Shop all kits & batteries.
