⚠️ Error 08 — Hall Sensor Fault

Bafang BBS02 motor core assembly, which houses the hall sensors What it means: A problem with the motor's hall sensors — the sensors inside the motor that tell the controller the rotor's position. Without good hall signals the controller won't safely spin the motor. How to fix it:
  • Reseat every connection. Unplug and replug the full main wiring harness (display, throttle, brakes) and all motor-lead connections (battery, speed sensor), checking for bent pins and correct alignment.
  • Check the hall sensor plug inside the controller. Loosen the controller from the motor core and inspect the white hall sensor plug — it may have wiggled loose or have silicone sealant interfering with the connection. Straighten any pins, clear any silicone, and re-seat it firmly.
  • Replace the failed part. If it still shows Error 08, the hall sensor PCB (circuit board) inside the motor has likely failed and needs replacing. In severe cases where the motor windings were burnt or blown, the motor core or controller may need replacement. Contact support to source the right hall PCB or motor core.
