Bafang error code quick reference chart — codes 04/05, 06, 07, 08, 12, 21, 22, and 30, each with what it means and the first fix to try. The same information is in the table below.
  • 04 / 05 — Meaning: Throttle error · First thing to try: Reseat throttle; isolate/replace throttle
  • 06 — Meaning: Low-voltage cutoff · First thing to try: Charge the battery
  • 07 — Meaning: High-voltage cutoff · First thing to try: Confirm a correct 48V/52V pack
  • 08 — Meaning: Hall sensor fault · First thing to try: Reseat connectors; check hall plug; replace hall PCB
  • 12 — Meaning: Controller fault · First thing to try: Reseat harness & internal controller plugs
  • 21 — Meaning: Speed sensor error · First thing to try: Set magnet gap to 5–10mm, aligned across the sensor
  • 22 — Meaning: Throttle/battery/display input · First thing to try: Release buttons; unplug throttle
  • 30 — Meaning: Communication error · First thing to try: Reseat all connectors; swap display (C965 batch); check 5V
