Cleaning an ebike is not the same as cleaning a regular bike — there are electrical parts in play, so leave the hose in the shed.
Do not hose it down or pressure-wash it. That is the fastest way to force water into the motor, controller, and connectors. The right way:- Keep the bike upright.
- Use a damp rag with water and, if needed, a little mild soap.
- Wipe the frame and components down by hand.
- Be especially gentle and careful around the connectors, the display, and the battery — keep excess water away from all of them. Ideally, wipe these areas with a barely-damp cloth only.
- Dry the bike thoroughly with a clean towel when you are done.
