🦺 Safety Precautions to Avoid Accidentally Engaging the Motor

Because the throttle and PAS can deliver instant power, a little care prevents surprise motor engagement — especially when parking, loading the bike on a rack, or working on it.

When you are done riding or setting the bike down:
  • Turn the kit off at the display power button, and switch off the battery. With the system off, neither the throttle nor pedaling can spin the motor.
  • Or set PAS to 0. If you want to leave the display on, press the minus button down to PAS Level 0. At level 0 the motor will not deliver power from either pedaling or the throttle.
Never carry, lift, or transport the bike with the kit powered on — a bumped throttle can spin the wheel unexpectedly. To stop power while riding: squeeze the ebrakes for an instant cutoff, or stop pedaling and release the throttle — power stays on for a couple of seconds and then shuts off completely.
