Your subdomain
Your help center is served at your site slug on helpshelf.com:
https://your-site-slug.helpshelf.comFind it under Help Center → Domain, with a copy button and a link to open it.
HTTPS is handled automatically — there's no certificate to install or renew.
The same content, two paths
Your help center is also reachable at app.helpshelf.com/help/your-site-slug. Both serve identical content; the subdomain is the one to share, since links inside the help center adapt to whichever you arrived on.
Custom domains
Using your own domain — help.yourcompany.com — is not available yet. The Domain settings page shows it as coming soon.
Until then, if you want your help center to feel like part of your own site:
- Match your design settings to your brand
- Link to it prominently from your site's footer and navigation
- Put the widget on your own pages, which keeps most help interactions on your domain anyway
Linking to it
Link directly to a collection or article rather than the home page when you know what someone needs:

https://your-slug.helpshelf.com/article/how-to-cancelArticle URLs use the article's slug, which you set when creating it. Changing a slug changes the URL — the old one will stop working, so avoid renaming slugs on articles you've linked to from elsewhere.
Search engines
Your help center is publicly crawlable and includes a sitemap, so articles can appear in search results. It also welcomes AI crawlers — see Making your docs readable by AI.
